Every Pattern Swirl pattern takes many hours to design, test, write and photograph. This policy explains how you can use our patterns — and what is not allowed — so that we can keep creating new ones.
What you CAN do
- Make items from our free and paid patterns for yourself, as gifts or for charity.
- Sell finished, handmade items made from our patterns in small quantities (for example, at craft fairs or in your own online shop). We kindly ask you to credit the design, for example: “Made from a Pattern Swirl pattern — patternswirl.com”.
- Share one photo of our project (or your finished make) on social media or your blog with a link to the original pattern page.
- Print one copy of a pattern for your own personal use.
What you CANNOT do
- Copy, republish or redistribute the pattern text, charts or photos — online or in print — in whole or in part.
- Sell, share, trade or give away our PDF patterns, or upload them to file-sharing sites, groups or marketplaces.
- Translate a pattern and publish the translation.
- Use our photos to sell your own items or to promote another pattern.
- Mass-produce items from our patterns in a factory setting.
- Use our patterns, text or photos to train artificial intelligence models.
- Claim our designs as your own.
Linking and featuring
Bloggers and round-up posts are welcome to feature one photo with a clear link back to the original pattern page. Please do not include the written pattern. For anything else, ask for permission first.
